Blue light of death
A pulsing blue light that never turns white means the console is failing to hand over to the video output. It is usually a power supply, HDMI or board fault, and it is diagnosable rather than terminal.
Loud fan and overheating
PS4s are dust magnets, and the Pro especially. A choked heatsink and dried thermal paste cause the jet-engine fan noise and the shutdowns. A strip, clean and re-paste fixes both.
Disc drive faults
Discs that will not load, eject on their own, or grind on insertion are usually a worn laser, belt or gear inside the drive. All are repairable without replacing the console.
Hard drive failure and slow loading
A PS4 that freezes, crashes or takes minutes to load is often a failing mechanical drive. An SSD upgrade transforms load times, and we can migrate your existing games and saves across.
DualShock 4 stick drift
Drifting sticks are a worn analogue module rather than a software fault. We replace the module so the fix lasts, instead of recalibrating a part that is already worn out.
An older console is still worth keeping
Most PS4 faults are mechanical, not fatal. Dust, dried thermal paste, worn laser assemblies and bent HDMI ports are all wear items. None of them mean the console has reached the end of its life.
The drive is the quiet upgrade. A PS4 that freezes and takes an age to load is usually running a tired mechanical hard drive. Fitting an SSD makes the console feel substantially quicker for a fraction of what a new one costs.
We will tell you when to stop. If a board has serious liquid damage or the repair approaches the value of the console, we say so. Free diagnosis means you can find that out without committing to anything.
